Orange

Orange floral water, also known as orange blossom water, is made by distilling the flowers of various orange tree species. The most commonly used species for orange floral water are the bitter orange (Citrus aurantium) and the sweet orange (Citrus sinensis).

Bitter orange trees are native to Southeast Asia and have been widely cultivated in the Mediterranean region, especially in Tunisia, Morocco, and Egypt, where they are used for the production of orange blossom water. Sweet orange trees are native to China and have been cultivated in many regions around the world, including the Mediterranean, South America, and California.

Other species of orange trees, such as the mandarin orange (Citrus reticulata) and the bergamot orange (Citrus bergamia), are sometimes used to produce floral waters as well, but on a much smaller scale.

It's worth noting that while orange blossom water is most commonly associated with the Mediterranean region, it is also used in other parts of the world, such as in Middle Eastern and North African cuisine.
