Orange

There are several botanical species that produce orange essential oil, but the most common are Citrus sinensis and Citrus aurantium dulcis. These two species are also commonly referred to as sweet orange and blood orange, respectively.

The growing regions for these species can vary, but they are typically grown in warm, tropical to subtropical climates. Some of the major producers of orange essential oil include Brazil, the United States (specifically Florida and California), Spain, Italy, and Mexico.

Other species that can produce orange essential oil include Citrus bergamia (bergamot orange), Citrus reticulata (mandarin orange), and Citrus aurantium (bitter orange), among others. These species are also grown in similar regions to sweet orange and blood orange, with some variation depending on the specific species.
