Chamomile

There are two main species of chamomile commonly used for medicinal and cosmetic purposes, which are German chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) and Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile).

German chamomile is an annual plant that is native to Europe and Western Asia, but is now also cultivated in other parts of the world, including North America and Australia. It is commonly grown in countries such as Germany, Hungary, Egypt, and Argentina.

Roman chamomile, on the other hand, is a perennial plant that is native to Western Europe and Northern Africa. It is now cultivated in many other parts of the world, including the United States, England, and France.

There are also other species of chamomile, such as Moroccan chamomile (Anthemis mixta), which is native to North Africa, and Cape chamomile (Eriocephalus punctulatus), which is native to South Africa. These species are less commonly used in commercial products compared to German and Roman chamomile.
