Overview

Esencias Martínez Lozano

Antonio Martínez Lozano began dealing with essential oil in the early months of 1960. It all started when he attended the forest exploitation auctions at the time, where all oils produced in Spain originated from the wild. Espliego was the main oil that was produced in the ‘50s which yielded about 100 tons all through the Spanish region. Rosemary, thyme, and sage oils were also produced in small quantities.

He then set up his first-ever traditional distillery in Archivel where it managed 25 conventional boilers all through the whole of the Spanish geography. The boilers were set in place near the area where the aromatic plants were obtained. This is dissimilar to how it happens today as we have expanded to large production centers all in one place.

In the ‘70s, Esencias Martínez Lozano was the first to produce the lavender plantation. Being the pioneer in the production of this oil, the model has remained constant to date. He started planting Espliego in Campo de San Juan, Moratalla found in the northwest of the Murcia region. As a result, his actions improved the growth and welfare of the whole area as many small aromatic farmers arose, most of whom are still thriving.

During the 1980s, the cultivation of Salvia lavandulifolia began. The then perfumers highly regarded this Salvia lavandulifolia essential oil. It was during the ‘90s era when a different series of plantations began including Red Thyme (a substantial essential oil that is currently valued for its health benefits).

In the subsequent years, we remained the top developers in the cultivation of various aromatic plants and became the first to nurture cistus, cypress, rosemary, and oregano in the Spanish region.

Certifications

Here at Esencias Martínez Lozano, we strive to ensure constant improvement on our products. Thus, we have acquired an ISO: 9001 quality certification from 2011 to date. We also have BIO certification, NOP certification, Kosher certified,

Esencias Martínez Lozano, being among the first essential oil distilleries, obtained the Food Sanitary Registry for producing and commercializing essential oils in food-grade in 2017.

Without a doubt, we are exclusively in constant development and increase of crops. We do this by immersing in an endless modernization course of our distillery and researching new plants while improving our cultivation techniques.
